Strength: how solid inside

Light: Phone stands, desk organisers, display pieces, figurines and props.
Standard: Most everyday parts. Brackets, clips, covers and boxes.
Strong: Parts that carry weight or get screwed down. Mounts, hinges, tool holders.
Solid: Rarely needed. Small hard-working parts like spacers, bushes and small gears.

Most of a part's strength comes from its outer walls, not the inside. A phone stand is plenty strong on Light. Going up to Strong mostly adds plastic, time and cost.

Material: what it needs to handle

PLA, PLA Matte, PLA Silk: Indoor things, models and gifts. Best value. Softens in a hot car or full sun.
PETG, PCTG: Tougher with a bit of flex. Good for the garden, shed and garage.
ASA: Outdoors and in the sun. Handles UV and heat. Good for car, boat and trailer parts.
ABS, ABS-GF: Heat resistant and easy to sand or paint.
TPU: Flexible and rubbery. Seals, bumpers, grips and feet.
Carbon and glass fibre (CF, GF, PA6, PC): Stiff engineering grades for jigs and hard-working parts. Higher heat and wear resistance.

Finish: smooth or quick

Draft: Quickest and cheapest. You'll see the layer lines. Fine for prototypes and hidden parts.
Standard: The right choice for most things.
Fine detail: Smoother curves and small detail. Slower, so it costs more.

Multi-colour

Choose Multi-colour, set how many colours (up to 4) and pick each one. Colour 1 is the main body colour.

Tell us which colour goes where in the notes, or upload a 3MF with the colours already painted on.

Getting your file right

Check the size shown under the file name. If it looks 25 times too small, switch Model units to Inches.

Keep walls at least 1.2 mm thick.

Holes can print slightly small. If something has to fit, tell us the size it needs to be in your notes.

No need to orient the part or add supports. We set that up for the best result.

Good questions

How accurate is the instant price?

Most files are run through the same slicing software we use to print, so the price is based on the real amount of plastic and print time. We still check every file by hand and confirm the final price by email before anything is printed.

When do I pay?

Only after we've confirmed your price and you've said yes. Sending a quote request costs nothing.

How long does it take?

Standard orders are dispatched in 5 to 7 business days. Express orders are dispatched in 2 business days for 50% more. Postage time is on top of that.

How much is postage?

Enter your postcode in the quote tool and you'll see live postage prices for your parts. We post anywhere in Australia.

Is there a minimum order?

Each order has a $15 setup fee. If your order comes to less than $22 with the setup fee, it's topped up to $22. All prices include GST.

Do you do bulk discounts?

Yes. 5% off 5 or more of the same part, 10% off 10 or more, 15% off 25 or more and 20% off 50 or more. The quote tool applies it for you.

What files can I upload?

STL, OBJ, STEP or 3MF, up to 10 files per quote and 25 MB each. Bigger file? Email it to info@industrialpw.com.au.

How big can you print?

Up to 350 × 350 × 310 mm in PLA and PETG, 325 × 320 × 325 mm in other materials and 300 × 320 × 320 mm in multi-colour. Bigger parts can often be printed in pieces and joined. Ask us.

Can you print more than one colour?

Yes, up to 4 colours in one part. Choose Multi-colour in the quote tool, then tell us which colour goes where, or upload a 3MF with the colours already painted on.

What if my file has problems?

Send it anyway. We check every file before printing and will tell you if something needs fixing, like walls that are too thin to print.

Are my files kept private?

We only use your files to quote and print your job. We don't share or sell them. See our privacy page.

Why the name?

A gyroid is the wavy, endlessly repeating pattern printed inside a lot of 3D parts. It's strong and light, which is what we aim for too.
